I get more from Love Soul Choir than any medication! 😮

July 14th, 2019

When I looked into joining Love Soul, I was a little lost in life. I was getting therapy for depression after a series of events that I had really struggled to get past and my life was work. Constantly looking at a screen and using it to fill the days – that in itself came with some health problems.

A friend of mine recommended Love Soul Choir and initially the idea of auditioning, performing and committing to something like that filled me with fear, I came to realise I wouldn’t get past anything if I didn’t at least try.

I’m now a few months into my Love Soul journey and the list of benefits I have personally experienced is endless, but here are a few key ones:

  • Happiness – I walk into the room and within one song I am feeling so much more positive, by the time I leave a rehearsal I am full of energy and smiling, even if I’ve had a really tough day.
  • Warmth – everyone in the choir is so warm and welcoming. Dan works incredibly hard to bring us great music and working with everyone to get the best sound. It’s unbelievable to hear and knowing that you’re a part of it.
  • Screen Freedom – just those few hours a week away from a screen have had a huge impact on me, it forces me to take some “me time” and to get moving, I’m frustrated that I didn’t do something like this sooner.

All in all I get more from Love Soul Choir than any medication, online resource, or day to day activity and when I have to miss a session I genuinely miss it and count down the days until the next rehearsal.

If you are on the fence about joining don’t be, just do it – you’ll be so pleased you did 🙂
