It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! 😃

March 19th, 2019

Joining Love Soul Choir was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I joined the Bournemouth group back in July 2018 after I’d successfully auditioned on a summery evening (I was super nervous but it turned out to be a really lovely and encouraging experience thanks to Dan) – and instantly loved the vibe I felt at my first rehearsal! Not only was everyone super talented and a joy to watch and listen to, but they also made me feel genuinely welcome right from the very beginning.

I have made many new friends and met truly inspiring people of all ages – it’s the members that make it so much fun every Tuesday. I particularly enjoyed performing at the grand re-opening of the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, which was a night I’ll never forget (not just because I nearly fell off the stage and somebody caught me! 😊).

When Bournemouth and Southampton got together for our Winter Show last December, it was such a buzz – the audience loved it as much as we did performing as one choir. I cannot wait for One Sound this May, when 560 (!!) singers will be sharing one stage – it’s going to be absolutely incredible.

I pushed myself to audition, really stepped out of my comfort zone – and it turned out to be the best thing ever. As a mum of two young children, it’s good and important to be doing something just for myself. Love Soul Choir is my weekly dose of happiness: Friendly faces, lots of laughter, great music and a bit of a workout too… what’s not to LOVE?
