On Saturday 6th October we headed down to Bournemouth to perform as part of the ‘Arts by the Sea’ festival. The weather the day before had been glorious and I had imagined the sun beaming down on us as we were set to entertain the crowds with our set list of uplifting songs…
So, the vision didn’t quite match reality! The day started with a bit of ‘drizzle’ which turned in to heavy rain and wind, and as we arrived we saw our leader Dan and the rest of the choir huddled under a marquee trying to keep warm! So this was not quite the sunny performance we had imagined. We were so cold, Dan advised us to keep our coats on if we needed and just go for it!
Well, that we did. We huddled close, our Love Soul family in four short lines (to avoid the lashing rain) and belted out our harmonies. Despite the weather, we pulled together and had so much fun. We soon warmed up by just getting in to the groove and singing our hearts out! We actually had quite an audience in the end and saw lots of people singing along and smiling. One lady was enjoying it so much, she filmed us on her iPad to watch again at home!
The great thing about Love Soul is, whatever the weather, wherever the venue… we just love what we do. The family connection between us is so special and the buzz we get from performing together is enough to brighten any dull day!
